SA: Adelaide hospital releases its final Bali victim

ADELAIDE, Dec 13 AAP - The final victim of the Bali bombings to be treated in Adelaidehas been released from hospital.

Sydney man Ali Sumer has returned home after spending the past two months in the RoyalAdelaide Hospital (RAH) burns unit.

Mr Sumer suffered burns to 35 per cent of his body and related chest and lung damagefollowing the October 12 terrorist attack.

The RAH has now discharged all seven victims of the bombings it treated.

Meanwhile, a Woomera detainee whose wife died in the bomb blasts was yet to hear whetherhis children would be allowed to come to Australia.

Ebrahim Sammaki's Indonesian wife, Endang, was visiting a Bali lawyer to discuss MrSammaki's refugee application when the bombs went off.

She received burns to more than 80 per cent of her body and died later in hospital.

The Indonesian government has refused to grant a visa to Mr Sammaki, from Iran, tovisit the children, Safdar, six, and Sara, three, who were being looked after by familymembers.

Mr Sammaki's lawyer, Danny Hyams, said attempts were still being made to get the childrena passport so they could visit their father in Australia.

Mr Hyams said he had also applied to Immigration Minister Philip Ruddock on compassionategrounds to allow Mr Sammaki to live in the community, but was yet to hear a reply.
