SA: Mitsubishi under most pressure says minister

Federal Industry Minister IAN MACFARLANE says Adelaide-based Mitsubishi is under the
most pressure of Australia's four car manufacturers.

But the minister says he knows of nothing to suggest the Japanese parent company is
preparing to close the doors and withdraw from local production.

Mr MACFARLANE'S told ABC radio Mitsubishi is facing the more difficulties than Holden,
Toyota and Ford.

The Minister says he's working with the company and its president TOM PHILLIPS to help
ensure the long-term future of the local car maker.
